For the Africa Code Week 2017, Google in conjunction with Cape Town Science Centre aims to train 500,000 children and youths in 35 African countries including Nigeria between October 18th-25th, 2017; FREE OF CHARGE on SCRACTH CODING WORKSHOP.
Online Hub Educational Services – (@OnlineHubNG) a digital education provider (an Africa Code Week Google Micro Grant recipient for 2017), will provide FREE coding training to thousands of girl-students especially teenagers in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital during Africa Code Week in October from 18 to 25 October 2017, as a first step to understanding the opportunities the web gives them to get employed, build and advance their career in Computer Science or start their own business after schooling leveraging on the digital literacy knowledge.
This project is in furtherance to OnlineHubNG’s “One Student, One Skill” — #OneStudentOneSkill empowerment initiative which aims to prepare students in secondary and tertiary institutions for the emerging digital economy and for the purpose of raising 21st century professionals capable of building solutions to challenges that may evolve.
If young people have the right skills, they can build businesses, create jobs and boost economic growth across the country. We hope to equip young people in Ogun State with digital skills and tools to help them build an online presence, create content, understand web design and user experience, social media and app development.
The entire team at Online Hub Educational Services –aka– @OnlineHubNG. -a digital education content platform will be most grateful to have your valuable support in inspiring the young coders with your participation actively at the training session schedule as outlined below:
And a special tribute and thank you to Google for supporting Africa Code Week again this year 2017, for empowering us at Online Hub Educational Services and several other organizations across Africa with micro-grants so we can multiply computational thinking and coding activities all over Africa using Google CS First enrichment materials.
